The BCGEHR Endowment Fund is all about growing handbell music in British Columbia — through grants that help individuals and choirs develop, travel, create, and connect.
We’ve partnered with the Central Okanagan Foundation to professionally manage the fund, but BCGEHR remains fully in charge of how grants are awarded. That means your ideas, your needs, and your projects stay at the heart of the process.

Who Can Apply?
Any member in good standing of BCGEHR
Applicants may receive one grant per year, usually to a maximum of $500, subject to available funds, and the Guild reserves the right to award grants only when suitable applications are received.
What We Fund
We’re here to support bold, creative, and practical ideas that move handbell music forward. Here’s what your project might look like:
Travel
- Heading to a handbell festival, camp, or symposium—provincial, national, or international
- Directors attending training events like the International Music Camp
️ Equipment or Creative Projects
- Supporting the purchase of handbells or chimes (especially for new choirs!)
- Commissioning a brand-new piece of music
- Bringing in a clinician to work with your group—or better yet, several choirs in your area
Outreach & Program Development
- Launching a handbell program in a school or community space
- Recording and producing a CD
- Starting something new and exciting that brings handbells to more people
